I've got sunshine!

This quilt makes me so happy every time I look at it. Now that it is done I can't wait to find a spot to hang it up in my newly painted craft room.

This little guy has been sitting in UFO pile for quite awhile waiting for me to finish quilting him. I didn't really have the motivation until the Mini Quilt Challenge from  Ellison Lane Quilts. It was just the push I needed to pick him up and finally finish that hand quilting.

He finished up at a tiny 10 x 12 but all those prints are colorful enough to really make a statement. I used a tutorial from Oh Fransson that I knew I had to make as soon as she put it up. I didn't have the patience to make a full sized quilt with her awesome stars but I knew I could commit to a little mini. I just love everything about it-even the fussy cut little turtle star...so cute!!

P.S. Please forgive my photography skills. I am still trying to figure out to take better pictures of my quilts.

Its that time again!

Blogger Quilt Festival is here. Now that I am writing this I am just realizing that the last festival was that last time I blogged!! Eeek! The only excuse I have is it has been a long crazy year at school and I'm having a baby so I may have been preoccupied a tiny bit.  Not that school is winding down maybe I can get myself back in the habit. With that said let me show off my favorite baby quilt ever!!

I made this quilt for a friend of mine's first baby girl and I love it. I had been wanting to make a ticker tape quilt for a while and a baby quilt was the perfect size. It was a struggle figuring out how to get the pieces to stay put while I was quilting but I eventually figured it out.

I love everything about it-the monogram, the fabrics, and the bright blue backing. It was so hard to give away but it makes me smile every time I see a picture of baby Hannah with her quilt.
