quilt that is. I can't remember exactly when it started but this past summer I began to haunt quilting blogs. The more I read the more I wanted to try and make my own quilt. From those blogs I found Moda fabrics and fell in love with pretty much all of them. I got my hands on a few layer cakes and a jelly roll and began to plan what pattern to use. Moda Bake Shop inspired me with Lap Quilt In A Jiffy. It only takes one layer cake-it doesn't get any easier than that. So I grabbed my Pure layer cake and got started. I love this fabric collection-brown and blue-my second favorite color combination. I started the quilt top in October and right before Christmas I basted my quilt together. I started quilting it last week after much deliberation over exactly how to do it. I went with straight line quilting and have quilted diagonal lines.
I tried to get a closeup of the quilting but its kinda hard to see.
I've got to finish quilting and then try my hand at binding. Not sure if I'm going to completely machine bind or try to hand bind half. We'll see what happens this weekend. I am so ready to finish it.

you could be from Pennsylvania.
ReplyDeleteWould they happen to quilt there? ;) I have at least three quilts that I have material and a pattern for but my problem is I don't know what to do once I make all of them (which probably won't be for a few years)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Hi Crystal!! I miss ya'll.
wanna start a quilt club...I love quilting! Your quilt looks awesome!!
ReplyDeleteyou need to put footnotes in so us "non-quilters" will know what you're talking about like its fabric you are referring to and not cake :) I only know because i happen to be your mother- great job by the way- since you have material for three quilts, can you put my name on one of them? Love you!!
ReplyDeleteLove the name of the blog, and I'm so proud of you little sis --- you are so talented!
ReplyDeleteJamie-would love to be in a quilt club or even just a crafting club! It could be awesome.
ReplyDeleteMom-will make a note of that. Thanks for the feedback.
